We have placed an order for a new low-floor Bluebird Orion and, with the support of North Yorkshire County Council, look forward to receiving this in the Spring of 2012.  More to follow...

Minibus Appeal 2011

As time, and miles, march on, our vehicles will reach the end of their working life with us.

We have come to that stage with our last Mercedes Sprinter LPG minibus.  After 146,00 Dial A Ride miles it's time to move this one on to pastures new and make way for a new bus...

Enter Minibus Options of Whaley Bridge, near Stockport!  Having visited their premises recently it has been decided to buy a Fiat Ducato minibus with lots of seats.

The Community Transport Association Awards 2011

The Community Transport Association UK celebrated its 25th year with its annual dinner and awards event at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester on 15th March 2011. 

Scarborough Dial A Ride was entered for the Community Transport Health Partnership award in its inaugural year.

And the winner was...SCARBOROUGH DIAL A RIDE!   J

Bluebird Vehicles supply latest fleet replacement

Scarborough's Eastfield based Bluebird Vehicles has supplied our latest fleet replacement minibus conversion.

Based on a Renault Master long wheel base, high roof commercial van the conversion includes space for 2 wheelchair users with an internal pillar lift and plenty of seating for more ambulant passengers with an easy access fold-out side step.  For more details and photos please click here

New MPV arrived!

In April of 2010, the regulations changed slightly and now we are able to operate smaller vehicles and not just minibuses.  With the help of North Yorkshire County Council we bought a 'previously owned' Citroen Belingo MPV and.....(click here for full story)

Exactly one year ago to the very day we moved into our Londesborough Road site and very quickly it turned into a very noisy, dusty building site.  It's now officially open is terrific.  Have a look at how it developed over the months here.

Latest Fundraising Event

Mick's Railway Challenge...started Monday, 26th October 2009! 

Covering nearly 3300 miles by rail Mick managed to raise £1,273.  For the full story click here

WE HAVE MOVED!

On 23rd April 2009 we moved from Allatt House!  After more than 25 years there we now at Londesborough Road Business Park off Londesborough Road in Scarborough.

Robert Goodwill MP for Scarborough visits Dial A Ride

Mr Goodwill spends a few hours with us, braving our poor summer weather, to chat with a few of our passengers.  He was able to get a glimpse of how Dial A Ride works, how it helps people within the community here in Scarborough and just what an important role it undertakes.   

Pictured below with Mr Goodwill are Mrs Underwood and Mrs Hunter who, as regular Dial A Ride passengers, were able to have a chat with their MP.    Thanks for coming Robert.
